Photomaly Walkthrough: Days 1–6

Quick answer: Photomaly’s recorded story route runs through six days. Days 1–2 teach the photo-studio jobs, Day 3 introduces the security-camera anomaly system with a visible 0/3 quota, Days 4–5 begin at 0/4, and Day 6 delivers the agent payoff. Complete ordinary orders first, check Sec Cam after customer events, photograph a real anomaly, transfer the image to the PC, and press Report. The supplied Day 5 recording ends after the third accepted report, so it does not independently prove a final 4/4 counter or the exact ending threshold.

For planning, see the six-day, 1.5–2-hour game-length breakdown. The Photomaly game facts guide separately confirms the Windows release, single-player status, system requirements, Demo availability, and current Endless Mode status.

Day Main progression Recorded anomaly counter Plan before sleeping
1 Restore power, clean the studio, learn photo/transfer/print/envelope/delivery Not active Finish all 7 customer orders and restock consumables
2 Receive the key and film, open the forbidden darkroom, develop film Not active Finish the film tutorial and all customer work
3 Unlock Sec Cam, report anomalies, complete the Backrooms ladder/camera route 0/3 at introduction Submit each accepted report; do not confuse an ordinary feed change with an anomaly
4 Continue the security loop and reach the later CALL FOR HELP scene 0/4 at day start Track accepted reports on the counter; finish the voice scene
5 Final-chance warning and another security-camera quota 0/4 at day start Treat the quota as ending-route evidence; the supplied capture records reports 1–3 only
6 Agent payoff and family-photo montage in the recorded route No counter shown in supplied clip Compare the result with the two documented endings

Day 1 walkthrough: open the studio and serve seven customers

Section titled “Day 1 walkthrough: open the studio and serve seven customers”
  1. Restore power. When the lights fail, take the flashlight and go to the rear-alley fuse box. The tested keyboard prompt shows F for the flashlight.
  2. Clean the floor stains and open the shop. Finish the setup tasks before expecting the customer loop to advance.
  3. Read the order panel before taking the photo. Frame the requested subject and wait for the game to accept the shot.
  4. Transfer and print the accepted image. Match the requested print settings rather than printing the first file blindly.
  5. Put every required print in the envelope, then deliver it. Payment arrives only after the order is handed over correctly.
  6. Repeat for seven customers. Restock paper and envelopes before running out, then close and sleep to trigger the Day 2 autosave transition.

If an order will not complete, use the screenshot-led studio basics guide to distinguish an accepted photo, a transferred file, the correct print quantity, and a filled envelope.

  • After the second customer, the fuse trips and a clown appears near the corner.
  • A figure appears beside the rear fuse as you approach it.
  • The clown photo setup is followed by another power interruption.
  • After the seventh customer’s upload, a woman appears at the bedroom doorway; the later bedroom beat contains the strongest fixed scare in the recorded day.

These are route warnings from the supplied play notes, not a guarantee that random ambience or future patches cannot add other scares.

Day 2 walkthrough: key, film, and darkroom

Section titled “Day 2 walkthrough: key, film, and darkroom”
  1. Restock paper and envelopes before opening. Day 2 adds a longer film chain, so avoid interrupting it for basic supplies.
  2. Serve the first key NPC. Take the key and film they provide.
  3. Unlock the room your father forbade. This opens the darkroom route and the mannequin note.
  4. Develop the film in order. Load the film, use the chemical trays, and wait for the photos to dry before treating them as deliverable prints.
  5. Continue normal customer orders. A later customer provides another film roll; develop that roll before the next story trigger.
  6. Finish the sixth customer’s print job. The print action triggers a fixed scare, after which the day can continue to its closing sequence.
  • The third customer’s delivery ends with a close-range scare.
  • Another fuse trip places a clown beyond the fence and a mannequin near the doorway.
  • During darkroom development, the lights fail and the mannequin appears behind the player.
  • Printing the sixth customer’s image triggers another fixed jump.

How to Report Anomalies in Photomaly (Day 3)

Section titled “How to Report Anomalies in Photomaly (Day 3)”

Day 3 begins after the preceding nightmare sequence. The returning story NPC collects the developed photos and unlocks the Sec Cam application. The tutorial and counter in the site-owner recording begin at 0/3.

Quick answer: find the real changed object shown by Sec Cam, photograph it in the room, transfer that camera image to the studio PC, open it, and select Report. A monitor screenshot or an untransferred camera photo does not complete the report.

  1. Open Sec Cam after a customer event. Cycle through the available feeds and compare rooms you already know.
  2. Confirm the change in person. In the recorded example, a mannequin appears in the bedroom feed and can be found in the room.
  3. Photograph the anomaly. The game needs the relevant subject in the captured image; a screenshot of the monitor is not the report itself.
  4. Return to the PC and transfer the camera image. Open the transferred photo and choose Report.
  5. Wait for the accepted confirmation and counter change. Repeat until the displayed Day 3 quota is complete.

The Backrooms worker starts a separate progression sequence after the studio loop. Collect the ladder pieces, assemble the ladder, and retrieve the special camera. At the final floor, the normal view does not make the safe route reliable: photograph the floor from a distance and inspect the image with E. Photograph the mannequin again whenever it begins moving; the camera stun is temporary.

Verified Backrooms camera view · 19 seconds · mutedThe recording moves from the ordinary corridor to the photographed floor view and the field of pits. The safe route is read from the captured image, not guessed from the normal view.

Day 4 walkthrough: track 4 reports and Call for Help

Section titled “Day 4 walkthrough: track 4 reports and Call for Help”

The Day 4 recording opens the security system at 0/4. It visibly reaches at least 3/4, which verifies that the daily target increased from Day 3 without pretending the clip proves every possible Day 4 anomaly location.

Verified Day 4 counterThe owned Day 4 capture begins its reporting loop at 0/4. Use the counter—not memory—to track accepted reports.

Verified scene promptThe late Day 4 recording shows CALL FOR HELP before the voice-input meter appears.
  1. Work customer orders and recheck Sec Cam after changes in the studio. Do not report a feed only because its lighting or camera noise changed.
  2. Photograph and submit each confirmed anomaly. Verify that the counter advances after every accepted report.
  3. Continue until the late studio sequence displays CALL FOR HELP. The voice meter follows the prompt.
  4. Speak while the meter is active. If no microphone is detected, use the current second-attempt, five-second fallback.

The pixel-faced agent’s opening visit frames Day 5 as the final chance to satisfy the anomaly work. The security application then displays 0/4. The supplied recording shows the first three accepted reports and a 3/4 state, but the file ends before the final counter confirmation.

Verified Day 5 counterThe owner recording directly verifies a fresh 0/4 target. It does not include the final 4/4 confirmation, so this guide does not manufacture that missing frame.

For a completion-route attempt, keep a simple note of each accepted report and do not sleep or advance based only on how many anomaly photos are stored. A captured anomaly and an accepted Report are different states.

The supplied Day 6 clip is a short payoff montage rather than a full playable-day recording. It directly shows the family-photo sequence and return to the main menu; it does not, by itself, establish the exact counter condition that selected the outcome.

Verified Day 6 payoff capture · 20 seconds · mutedThe owned recording verifies the family-photo montage for this run. Consult the ending evidence before treating the montage alone as proof of the route trigger.

Use the all-known-endings guide to compare Family Matters and Reset Protocol. That page deliberately separates what this run verifies from the still-reported clean-save route split.

Symptom Check first Safe recovery
Customer will not pay Accepted photo, correct print count/settings, every print inside the envelope Reopen the order panel and compare each stage in Studio Basics
Report button does not advance the counter The photographed subject may not be the real anomaly, or the file may not be transferred Recheck the feed, photograph the changed object in person, transfer, then Report
Backrooms floor looks unreadable You are using the normal view Photograph the floor from a distance and inspect the image with E
Mannequin resumes moving The stun is temporary Take another mannequin photo before advancing
Call for Help never hears the microphone Input is not detected Finish attempt one; on attempt two wait five seconds for the button fallback
Day 6 result differs from the plan The exact route record was not preserved Record each displayed quota and accepted report on the next clean run; do not edit or delete the save blindly

The six source recordings were captured by the site owner on August 5–10, 2026 on the Windows full release. The Day 1–3 notes record Unity build 6000.0.69.34311. Published clips are short H.264 excerpts with audio removed; still images are compressed WebP derivatives. No third-party video player, tracking embed, game archive, or copied competitor screenshot is used.

The guide will be updated when a clean save records both ending branches, the missing Day 5 4/4 confirmation is captured, or a patch changes the displayed quotas or progression order.
