Download the Photomaly Demo from the developer’s official itch.io page. It currently offers a 446 MB Windows ZIP through the page’s Download or claim flow. The standalone Steam Demo URL for App 4309160 redirects to the Steam homepage, so it is not a working download route for a new player. The paid Photomaly full game on Steam is a separate product.
| If you want… | Use this official route | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| A free first look | Developer’s Photomaly Demo on itch.io | Around 30 minutes covering the first two days; 446 MB Windows ZIP |
| The complete game | Photomaly on Steam | Paid full release, updates, achievements, and the documented Days 1–6 route |
| The old Steam Demo | Do not rely on App 4309160 | Its public store URL currently redirects to the Steam homepage |
| Day | Main jobs | Do not leave until… |
|---|---|---|
| Day 1 | Restore power, clean and open the studio, photograph customers, print, pack, deliver, restock | The active customer work is complete and payment has appeared after each correct handoff |
| Day 2 | Receive the key and film, enter the darkroom, process film through three trays, dry the prints, finish customer work | Every developed print has a green ready marker and the full order is inside one envelope |
The safest rule for both days is: read the order tracker first, complete one stage at a time, and confirm success before spending supplies on the next order.
Follow the opening task list before waiting for customers. When the power fails, take the flashlight and use the rear-alley fuse box. Clean the marked floor stains and finish the opening tasks so the customer loop can begin.
The right-side tracker is the specification for the current job. Check the requested orientation and later compare its print size, number of copies, and Color/B&W requirement with the computer settings.

Open the accepted image on the studio computer. Match all three controls to the order tracker:

Collect the requested prints, place all of them in an envelope, select that envelope, and hand it to the correct customer. Payment appearing on the counter is the clearest confirmation that the order was accepted.

Continue the customer loop, restock paper and envelopes before they run out, and complete the closing tasks shown by your build.
Day 2 adds film processing to the ordinary customer workflow. Restock basic supplies before opening, follow the story task that provides the key and film, and use the newly available darkroom equipment.
The tested Day 2 tutorial moves a film print through Developer → Stop → Fixer, then sends it to the drying rack. The signs in the recorded full release show Developer: 10 sec, Stop: 5 sec, and Fixer: 5 sec.

A freshly hung print is not ready just because it is visible. Leave it on the rack while the status marker is white. Collect it only after the marker turns green, then put every required print into the customer envelope.

Film changes how the prints are created, not how the order is delivered. Collect the complete set, place it in one envelope, hand it to the waiting customer, and confirm payment. Continue until the Demo reaches its own ending screen.
| Problem | Most likely check | Safe next step |
|---|---|---|
| The camera photo will not progress | The framing has not earned the green indicator | Adjust orientation and subject framing before taking the final shot |
| The customer rejects or ignores the order | Wrong size, copies, Color/B&W, missing print, or empty envelope | Compare every tracker field, repack the complete order, then retry the handoff |
| Film cannot be packed | It has skipped a tray or is still drying | Repeat the displayed chemical order and wait for the green drying marker |
| The Steam Demo link opens the store homepage | App 4309160 is not a working public route | Use the developer’s itch.io page instead |
| The Demo behaves differently from a screenshot | The screenshots are from the current full release, not the Demo archive | Follow your on-screen task tracker and use this guide for the shared workflow |
| You want to continue the same save in the full game | Transfer support is not officially confirmed | Plan to begin the paid release separately; do not buy it on the assumption of save transfer |
For more screenshot-by-screenshot troubleshooting, open Studio Basics. It covers rejected photos, print settings, envelopes, exact film timings, and the later “Frames: 4” wording.
The developer describes the sample as around 30 minutes and covering the first two days. It introduces the photo-studio loop before the longer full release.

Use the developer’s official itch.io page. It currently lists Photomaly Demo.zip · 446 MB for Windows.
The developer page currently presents the Demo through itch.io’s Download or claim and name-your-own-price flow. Use the choices shown on that official page; this guide does not collect payment or distribute the file.
Not through the old public App 4309160 URL as checked on August 15, 2026. That link redirects to the Steam homepage, and the paid game page does not expose a Demo button. Use itch.io for the Demo and Steam for the full release.
The developer estimates around 30 minutes and describes it as the first two days.
Unknown. No official source checked here promises that orders, upgrades, or story progress carry into the paid release. Plan to start the full game separately.
Use the official Photomaly Steam page. This site does not sell, host, or redistribute it.
This page should be rechecked whenever the developer updates the Demo page, Steam restores a Demo button, or a patch changes Demo/full-game compatibility.
